Who am I? Mom

Mom - my favorite role is that of Mom. Hi! I am Jane Liedtke and this is my daughter, Emily.

Ginger, our loving English Cocker 1999-2018, yes 18 yrs!

At this stage in life Emily is on her own adventures with her husband Joshua. They married May of 2019 and honeymooned in Japan thankfully missing the 2020 drama.

They met while students at Purdue University, also my alma mater. Emily, an animal scientist, works in a pharmaceutical testing lab by the university research hospitals (Rush and Northwestern) in Chicago and Josh, a food scientist, works in the suburbs with the creation of beverage flavorings. So with them off doing their thing, like rock climbing, it leaves me as Mom, free to explore. No grandkids yet. So, it is time to really retire, get an RV, and have new adventures!

I am also mom to a very cute rescue pup, Daisy, who will be riding shotgun on our travels. She will take her alternate role of guard dog seriously as she loves her mommy. Daisy was rescued from a Florida hurricane when police discovered a puppy mill at a home they needed to evacuate. Sent to a kill shelter, she was discovered by a FL rescue group who promptly contacted a local Maine rescue who, knowing our then 17- year old Ginger was not going to be long for this world, asked if I would take her. All it took was a photo of Daisy and she was a member of the family. At the time she was 2 yrs old and had already delivered three litters of puppies. And, she had never been socialized Nor spayed. So now 2.5 years later she is a loyal and loving companion dog ready for adventure.

Daisy, ready for adventure!

We presently live on the Midcoast of Maine, really a beautiful part of America.
